Content Compass

Content Compass is Panasonic's software-based orchestration platform that provides unified control of multiple routers, custom soft panels, tally, multi-viewers, and monitoring across both SDI and IP infrastructure. Beyond routing, it integrates PTZ, playback, and source grouping into a single interface, all configurable without taking a production offline

Unified Control Across Every Router

Content Compass provides unified routing control across multiple SDI systems, regardless of vendor, while seamlessly integrating IP routing for video and audio via optional NMOS, NDI, and Dante. Built from the ground up as an IP network controller rather than an extension of any single vendor's SDI hardware, multi-system control has been a core design principle from day one.

For productions that aren't ready to retire legacy SDI routing hardware but need to expand into ST 2110, Content Compass overlays onto existing infrastructure and brings IP routing into the same unified control environment. Once NMOS networks are integrated, the operator experience stays exactly the same, even when combining SDI and ST 2110 path changes in a single workflow.

Easy to Change on the Fly

Content Compass lets you reshape your system mid-production without interrupting what's already on air. Build a specialized control panel for a specific project, group video and audio paths to streamline operator workflows, or add entirely new nodes and networks all while current operations keep running.

When supported NMOS and NDI devices auto-discover as they come online, and SDI routers integrate as additional nodes, so expanding the system with NMOS and NDI capabilities can be as simple as plugging in and letting Content Compass do the rest.

One System, Any Scale

Content Compass scales to the production, not the other way around. Whether the system spans a single SDI router in a flypack or a full hybrid stadium installation, licensing is based on supported MoIP transport protocols, feature set and number of user logins - not the size of the infrastructure underneath.

On the IP side, banks of ST 2110 SDI gateway devices can be made to appear to the operator as a single SDI router with no added complexity in the control layer. This gives system integrators the flexibility to design the cleanest I/O architecture for the job while keeping the user interface consistent across every scale.

Tailored to Fit Your Needs

Content Compass products offer flexible software bundles that scale from simple SDI router setups to complex multi-network stadium installations, so you only pay for what your production actually needs. Every offering delivers the same intuitive interface, so your team's experience stays consistent as your needs grow.

Content Compass (CC) offers a range of ready-made packages to match your video production needs. Browse the options below and contact our sales team to get started.
  • 5-Year SLA

CC-BASE is our most affordable system. CC-Base aggregates control of multiple SDI routers including many installed SDI routers from leading vendors as well as the newer affordable routers that may not offer an orchestration system. CC-Base also manages TSL tally for cameras, switchers and multi-viewers, and can issue commands to Panasonic PTZ cameras. There is no limit to the number of nodes the CC-base system can manage and there are many tools to sort all the sources and destinations to handle this. An enterprise AV manager responsible for many studios or other assets can utilize CC-Base to manage them all at once or separately, with interfaces customizable room by room or event by event.

  • 5-Year SLA

CC-BASE PLUS builds on the flexibility and scalability of CC-BASE, adding support for Dante Audio and NDI. NDI support adds the ability to create a virtual NDI router which can be utilized to bridge a large bank of NDI sources and preselect what will feed a smaller number of NDI inputs. CC-BASE PLUS is the ideal companion for KAIROS live production platform, utilizing NDI and SDI inputs, multiplying the scalability of that system. With Dante Support, CC BASE PLUS can manage audio routing without the need for a Dante routing system, and this routing can add NDI Audio sources to the pool ofrouted audio. Content Compass can customize port containers – grouping multiple video and audio sources into one routing stream.

  • 5-Year SLA

CC-NMOS Delivers a fully functional ST 2110 routing control system comparable with competitive orchestration systems at multiple times the cost. KAIROS customers utilizing ST 2110 can leverage all the ST 2110 system benefits and make any set of SDI gateways into a router. Customers adding ST 2110 alongside installed SDI routing can seamlessly integrate both new and legacy routing systems. Content compass can manage broad routing tasks above and beyond that needed for a live switched production system. AES 67 audio routing can also be controlled since it is part of the ST 2110 spec. IPMX utilizes NMOS protocols so any campus IPMX video distribution network can be also controlled.

  • 5 Year SLA

CC-NMOS NDI is an ideal complement to a KAIROS Live Production Platform working in a multiple network, base-band hybrid environment, supporting SDI and MoIP transport networks. The ability to group routes by physical location, management function, individual show, or any other category means a simple interface involving NDI, SDI and ST 2110 can be presented to the operator where the specific transport technology is transparent to the operator. Routing capability across multiple facilities can be operated from a single workstation and control panels are customized to the task or the user’s preference.

  • 5 Year SLA

CC-NMOS ACCESS has the same functionality as CC-NMOS, but offers three independent user logins (CC-NMOS has only one user login and one admin login). Content compass has no limitation on end point nodes, so a system can easily scale up, but typically a very large deployment will have multiple operators, so multiple simultaneous users become important. These large systems covering multiple venues and networks may become a more critical point of failure, so CC-NMOS ACCESS also function with up to three redundant failover servers, adding more robustness for a system relied on by more organizations.

  • 5 Year SLA

CC-NMOS PREMIUM matches the functionality of CC-NMOS ACCESS and adds Dante video & NDI support and one more user login. CC-NMOS PREMIUM is fully capable of operating a full campus network of any scale at a broadcast or pro sports level without compromise. CC-NMOS PREMIUM easily scales to a multiple core KAIROS system and can bring together all leading vendors in a mixed transport network.

  • A 1U rack Linux server capable of 24-7 operation for any content compass operation. For CC-NMOS ACCESS or CC-NMOS premium three servers may be run redundantly.
  • A small affordable Linux server for any content compass operation. For CC-NMOS ACCESS or CC-NMOS PREMIUM three servers may be run redundantly.
