It often starts with a personal decision. A goal to move more. A challenge to try something new. A desire to support a cause that matters.
At Panasonic Connect, wellness isn’t something we mandate - it’s something we encourage, support, and celebrate when our people choose to pursue it. Whether it’s a 5K run, a charity walk, or simply committing to move more throughout the day, these moments reflect our culture in action: driven by individuals, strengthened by community.
Recently, employees across our organization participated in charity races that connected personal wellness with something even more powerful – purpose. And while each person had their own reasons for showing up, they all crossed the finish line with a shared sense of pride and connection.
Running for Harper
For Sales Engineer, Bob Saetham, the decision to sign up for a 5K with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation wasn’t just about wellness. It was deeply personal.
“A family in our neighborhood has a daughter, Harper, who was diagnosed with pediatric cancer,” he said. “Our daughters go to the same school, and we all love her. Participating in the NPCF 5K with Harper’s family and friends was special — we wanted them to know they’re not alone in their fight.”
“The event reminded me how important consistent exercise is to overall health,” he added. “And it felt good to be part of something bigger than myself.”
Connecting Through Movement
In Kansas, several employees signed up to participate in the Deaf Cultural Center and Museum’s ASL for All 5K run in Olathe. It wasn’t an official Panasonic Connect event, but it reflected something very real about our culture: when one person takes initiative, others often follow.
Emma Broaddus, a Marketing Specialist, joined the race to challenge herself physically and mentally.
“Sitting at a computer most of the day, I wanted to push myself and try something new,” she said. “Having a specific training goal in mind helped motivate me to move more – and the whole experience was really rewarding.”
She also appreciated the opportunity to connect with coworkers outside the office.
“Participating with fellow Panasonic Connect employees gave us a chance to get to know each other better, away from our desks. That time together helps build stronger team connections.”
One moment stood out for her: the national anthem being signed in American Sign Language.
“It was such a powerful reminder that communication is at the heart of everything we do—and that supporting inclusion, in all its forms, reflects who we are.”

Wellness That Mirrors Our Work
For Dhanendra Sharma, Associate Director of Applications Development, his 5K was both a physical and mental challenge, and a reminder of the value of persistence.
“I saw it as a great opportunity to challenge myself while also embracing a healthier lifestyle,” he said. “Crossing the finish line gave me a real sense of accomplishment. It reminded me how small, consistent steps can lead to big progress—just like the work we do every day.”
He also noted how it sparked conversations with coworkers about wellness, goal-setting, and encouragement.
“The best part was seeing everyone cheer each other on—coworkers, friends, and even strangers. It wasn’t about finishing first but finishing together.”

A Culture That Runs with You
Whether it’s supporting a local museum, standing alongside a family facing unthinkable challenges, or simply making time for health, these stories remind us that wellness isn’t a solo journey. While participation in wellness events is always voluntary, the culture at Panasonic Connect helps make these moments possible.
“At Panasonic Connect, our strength lies in the spirit of our people," Rick Elliot, President of Panasonic Connect North America. "Whether it’s a 5K run or a quiet moment of reflection, we support each other in ways that matter. As someone who knows firsthand the camaraderie and dedication these events inspire, I believe these moments highlight not only our commitment to wellness and community, but also the passion and teamwork that drive our success every day. That’s how we build a culture of care, resilience, and purpose.”
When people are empowered to take care of themselves, and supported in doing so, it strengthens everything we do. At its heart, it’s about showing up for yourself, your colleagues, and your community. And when we do that together, we don’t just move – we make meaningful progress.
